Jigsaw Aims To Double Web Sales

Fashion retailer Jigsaw aims to double sales through its website by introducing John Lewis-style web services brought in by its new boss.

The fashion chain's chief executive Peter Ruis, who was parachuted in from the department store last year to improve the businesses fortunes, introduced click and collect to Jigsaw in September.

But the service is only available at stores based within the M25 and Ruis plans to extend that to all 61 shops by the end of this year.

Ruis told Retail Week that he aims to increase online sales from 11 per cent to 20 per cent of total revenue.

He said: 'We are relatively young online and are doing a lot to make sure the platform works as well as it can. We are ensuring there is more rich content on the site and more exclusives online more quickly.'

Jigsaw said earlier this month that sales rose 7 per cent to £64.2 million in the year to September 28 and online sales rose 36 per cent. Profit rose 21 per cent to £1.9 million.
