Variety.co.uk plans to move to larger offices to cope with an increase in demand.
Founder John Orr told the Sunderland Echo that he is aiming to increase the firm's growth rate of more than 30 per cent a year to reach £2 million sales.
He said his ambition is to target overseas markets and float on the stock exchange. The company currently offers more than 90,000 home, garden and leisure products.
Orr, who is mentored by Sunderland entrepreneur Sir Peter Vardy, is moving offices for the second time in four years, this time to a larger premises on the North East Business and Innovation Centre.
'The council helped out when we initially expanded and has helped us again. I've found the city council helpful to entrepreneurs, both as a younger person starting a business and as an established business owner aiming to grow,' he said.
