Ted Baker Online Sales Rise 56%

Ted Baker has increased internet sales by more than half after relaunching its UK website last year.

The fashion retailer said online sales rose by 55.7 per cent to £23.2 million in the year to January 25 compared to a year earlier. That means online sales account for about 7 per cent of Ted Baker's £321.9 million turnover.

Total sales at the stores, concessions and online business increased 26.5 per cent during the year and profit rose 26.7 per cent to £40 million.

Ted Baker relaunched its site in November with increased personalisation, local content for overseas customers and laying the foundations for future growth online. It plans to launch dedicated language sites in 'key' countries and develop the content to specific European countries.

Its e-commerce business is based in the UK primarily serving the UK and Europe. It has a separate transactional site dedicated to the Americas and separate e-commerce businesses with some of its concession partners.

The US e-commerce site will also undergo migration to the new platform in the year ahead, the company said, 'delivering improved design, performance and personalised content that creates a more relevant customer experience'.

Ted Baker also said it has recently agreed with Microsoft to deploy Microsoft Dynamics AX business systems globally across the Group. The new systems will 'enhance the efficiency of the business, streamline our operations and provide a solid platform as we continue to grow and develop our business globally'.
