Asos, OzSale and The Iconic All Lose Traffic Market Share In Oz

Asos and its two main Australian fashion rivals have lost market share over the past year, according to figures from Experian Hitwise.

The research, reported by Australian trade magazine Rag Trader, revealed that Asos was the second biggest fashion website in the country with a 4.71 per cent share of hits in February. That compared to 5.02 per cent in the same month a year earlier.

The drop came just ahead of technical problems at the Asos site in Australia at the end of February and into March resulting in what was described as a 'meltdown'. The IT problem meant Asos customers in Australia were left without their orders and were unable to contact customer services.

The country's biggest fashion site OzSale also lost market share from 6.15 per cent to 4.90 per cent, still narrowly maintaining its lead over Asos.

The Iconic.com.au, backed by Berlin-based Rocket Internet, watched its share drop from 3.55 per cent to 3.19 per cent.
