Moss Bros, the UK’s men’s suit retailer has increased online sales threefold over the past year following a relaunch of the website.
Moss Bros launched its new site in January 2013 and followed that up with a mobile enabled site in May 2013.
The company has introduced dedicated sites in Ireland, Sweden, Denmark and Holland. Further sites are planned in the current financial year ending January 2015.
The company said 5.1 per cent of its total sales were made online during the financial year compared to 1.7 per cent the year before. Total sales at the group increased 3.5 per cent to 109 million.
Moss Bros introduced nationwide 'click and collect' in January 2013. The relaunch also saw a 50 per cent improvement in the buying conversion rate from visitors to the site.
The returns rate to the site from rebounding product was 20 per cent.
The company said its e-commerce business has also proved to be 'a very efficient means of clearing end of lines stock' with faster sell through rates and an improvement in prices achieved.
It said: 'Our retail stores and websites will also be incorporated into multi-channel during 2014. Once completed this will enable customers to shop for retail and hire across a range of channels in-store, PC, tablet and mobile.'
'Once full multi-channel capability is in place, we will leverage our new single customer database using customer relationship management software tools so that we can focus customer communications on propositions that are relevant and appealing,' it said.
An option for customers to receive their in store customer receipt via email will also be introduced. As well as improving customer convenience, Moss Bros hopes this will significantly increase email collection rates and therefore marketing opportunities.
