Home Retail Group has promoted Argos digital director Bertrand Bodson to the new role of chief digital officer.
The promotion to a group role is part of an executive reshuffle as Argos managing director John Walden moves up to replace departing Home Retail chief executive Terry Duddy.
It means Bodson will lead the digital strategy across the group including Argos and sister chain Homebase. He will also continue to head up Argos' digital strategy, digital development, trading, financial performance and other functions related to the digital business, catalogue and new media, Home Retail said in a statement.
'It is critical that Argos continues its current positive trading momentum and delivers on its ambitious transformation plan. Bertrand, having joined Argos only last year, has significantly elevated the vision and digital capabilities of Argos as a whole, and overseen good progress across digital channels.
Argos boss David Robinson has also moved up to the newly created role of Argos chief operating officer as part of the reshuffle and division of some of Walden's former responsibilities. He will operate the business day-to-day and marketing, finance and human resources will all report to him.
