SecretSales.com Sales Rise By More Than Two Thirds To £27.4 Million

UK flash sales website SecretSales.com increased sales by 69 per cent to £27.4 million last year as it attracted more first-time buyers to the site.

SecretSales.com said it has three million registered members and a 70 per cent increase in unique visitors in the period compared to 2012. It says it has 150,000 unique visitors a day.

The company said first-buyer revenue increased 78 per cent in the period. But it said this year the focus will be on maintaining existing customers and that 75 per cent of revenue will come from its active customer base.

The company shipped its one-millionth order in December and it said peaks in demand came in May and July.

Founders Nish and Sach Kukadia said in the joint statement on the company's performance: 'Secretsales.com continues to post record results and these figures show that as well as attracting new members, our existing customers are buying more than ever. This is due to our dedication to offering amazing brands at strong discounts and also ensuring our customers’ experience is straightforward and enjoyable.'

The statement continued: 'We are committed to rolling out key development, product and marketing initiatives to ensure we continue to grow throughout 2014. We have an exciting development launching in the spring which will encourage that growth, so watch this space.'

The company said 46 per cent of sales were made via mobile devices last year, compared with 30 per cent in 2012. That was split between smartphones (24 per cent) and tablets (22 per cent).

Traffic was much higher from mobiles with 42 per cent from smart phones (versus 30 per cent in 2012) and 22 per cent from tablets (versus 15 per cent in 2012).
