Asos Testing Loyalty Scheme That Gives 5% Discount

Asos is trialing a loyalty scheme that offers the opportunity to collect points every time shoppers spend money on its site.

The trial is being conducted with 325,000 customers by invitation and offers five points, each worth 1 pence, for every £1 spent.

Each month the retailer will convert the points into a reward code that can be used on the site. The trial only allows rewards to be generated in £5 sums so customers must spend £100 before they can benefit.

There is a 28 day wait before the points are added to allow for returns. The trial will run for six months and customers are being asked to provide feedback to improve the service ahead of a full launch.

In October, Asos launched AccessAllAsos which rewards brand advocates with freebies and exclusive discounts as it seeks to boost engagement with shoppers on social media and brand loyalty. It is being slowly rolled-out but it is not yet clear whether Asos plans to press the button on a full launch.

Asos has 8.2 million active customers, an increased of more than a third on a year ago.
