Online sales at Britain's largest sporting goods retailer Sports Direct increased 43 per cent in the first half, boosting sales at the group.
The company said internet sales now account for 15.5 per cent of total sales. The company said total group revenues increased £1.34 billion in the 26 weeks to October 27 compared to the same period a year ago.
UK sports retail sales increased 13.4 per cent to £903.3 million helped by the online surge. It said pretax profit increased 14.3 per cent to £143 million.
Chief executive Dave Forsey said: 'The performance of sports retail is particularly pleasing, with significant growth in the UK, Europe and online.'
Sports Direct is also trying to grow its casual fashion Lifestyle business. During the period it relaunched web sites for Flannels.com and CruiseFashion.co.uk.
