Shopping4Fans.com Aims To Raise £250,000

Film and sport memorabilia site Shopping4Fans.com, which is currently selling Hobbit and Muhammad Ali merchandise, wants to raise £250,000 to ramp up its marketing.

The flash sale site works by putting goods up for sale as the licence holder nears the end of his agreement with a brand. The sale typically last for seven days or until the products are sold out.

Current sales include Smiley watches, Harry Potter merchandise and football dog tags and chunky bracelets. In coming weeks it also plans to list products connected to the TV series Game of Thrones, Manchester United and WWE wrestling, according to the Mail on Sunday.

Patrick Ashworth, founder of the site which employs 12 staff, said: 'The official licensed merchandise market is worth £117 billion globally and it is estimated that 20 to 30 per cent of product is left as overstock. We are targeting 18 to 25 yerar-olds and groups like students.'
