Debenhams Click & Collect Jumps To 25% Of Online Sales

Department store Debenhams has seen click and collect orders from its UK web site increase to 25 per cent this year as online sales surged.

The increase, from 10 per cent the previous year, came amid a 46 per cent increase in sales during the year to August to £366 million. Debenhams total revenue is about £2.8 billion meaning online sales account for about 13 per cent of total sales.

The store wants to capitalise on the draw of its stores and use customers familiarity with its shops to drive online sales. Customers that do not live near a store spend far less online than those that do.

The store has a medium term target to reach £600 million online sales.
