Cloggs.co.uk is returning to the high street with its first store since its new owner closed down its bricks-and-mortar shop last year.
Cloggs, which was acquired by JD Sports from administration last year, opened a shop in Shrewsbury's Pride Hill on Saturday.
Store manager Carol Croft told the ShropshireLive.com website that the business chose Shrewsbury because its population closely matched Clogg's customer profile. She added: 'We are delighted to be opening this new concept store and look forward to welcoming the people of Shrewsbury.'
It is understood that JD Sports wants 20 shops within five years after restructuring the business and closing its Birmingham Bullring last year. The Bullring store had been open since 2009.
Cloggs has previously said it want to focus on properties from Midland towns down to areas in the M25 such as St Albans.
Cloggs launched the store by offering 10 per cent off to potential shoppers that 'liked' the store on Facebook and 20 per cent off for checking in to the store online. The store has an entry price point of around £40 and prices average at around £60.
