Bathstore Relaunches Website After Web Sales Soar 48%

Bathroom retailer Bathstore has relaunched its web site with a tool that allows shoppers to design their own bathroom and a 'tile calculator'.

The retailer was bought last May for £15 million. But it made a £3.3 million profit compared to a loss last year after sales increased 10 per cent to £99 million in the year to July.

Chief executive Gary Favell said earlier this year that the site is integral to the future of the business. Ecommerce sales in the year rose 48 per cent.

The site relaunched at the end of last month and now includes a 2D design tool that allows customers to design a bathroom that can then be presented in 3D using in-store technology.

There is also an 'order retrieval' tool that allows customers to log in and order using quotes given in one of the 172 stores and a function to calculate how many tiles are needed based on the size of the bathroom.

Bathstore chief marketing officer Claire Bayliss said: 'We recognise that an omnichannel offering is critical to our development.'
